Teachers’ training in Krakow

In September Jagiellonian University from Poland hosted training for teachers. It was intensive 5 day training where teachers from 6 partner Universities raised their skills and competences related to soft skills teaching.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) report on 21st Century Education Policy emphasizes that, students need to gain a deeper conceptual understanding of the world through learning, rather than superficial facts and procedures for a successful life and work in the knowledge society. But how should we teach our students? How we can teach them such skills as working in the team, conflict management, setting the goals, time management and multicultural communication?
These questions teachers tried to answer during the training. They shared experiences, working methods, learned new teaching approaches.

In frame of the DSICOM project we have developed several teaching materials to train student soft skills. Those materials were presented and tested during the teachers training.
You are also invited to discover reading materials and exercises on soft skill training in DISCOM project webpage! If you are teacher – you are welcome to use those materials in your study courses. Teachers who participated in the training concluded - also teachers need to learn, only in this way we will be able to teach and train students who are well prepared for their professional life!
